Hello readers, how are you?

I’ve recently received my first two subscription boxes ever in life from Birchbox! It’s pretty fun. If you’re deciding whether you should try it or just want to see what other people got, here are my contents.

Harvey Prince’s Hello

A nice citrus and floral scent great for the season or daytime in general.

Beauty Protector’s Protect & Detangle

This made my box! Another item perfect for summer, it does so much (UV protection, detangle just in its name) and smells amazing.

Cynthia Rowley eyeliner

I got black which is the color I’d choose out of what’s available; I really prefer a dark brown. It goes on easy, but I gave mine to my mom (why there’s a different pencil in my pic ;p).

Perlier shea almond Body Cream

Honestly, this scent reminds me of like, hotel shampoos and lotions?? It’s not bad!

Supergloop sunscreen

I’m really like the high SPF, but my sample was… super gloop. Also, the smell is like medicine, but I think once you put on, it’s not as bad.

June Birchbox

Number 4 Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

I really can’t tell if my hair is in any better condition from these items. They smell like church/incense.

Coola BB cream

This feels like a mousse, but when I blended this in, it was like I didn’t even put anything on. I also have dry spots which this makes look terrible!

Vasanti Face Rejuvenator

I actually haven’t used this yet because I’m weary of anything that claims that it “brightens.” A quick search for reviews make this sound like a scrub that’s going for the effects of a microdermabrasion.

Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum

This smelled fine. Like any sample in a magazine.

Gilchrist & Soames’s London body lotion

Nice texture and scent. I appreciate the natural ingredients and that it’s cruelty-free.

Verdict: I was pretty excited about my first box possibly just because it was my first box, but I also loved the Protect & Detangle. Not so crazy about the second $:\$ I got my mom a gift subscription for Mother’s Day, and she got eyeshadow in her second box. I think I’d like it more if I got more of a balance between bath/body goods and makeup.
